Happily Never After

JPG magazine has just publisehd the most amazing shoot in the history of the world. It’s sort of reminiscent of the shots taken by Annie Leibovitz for Disney featuring stars like Scarlett Johansson, Beyonce, David Beckham and Tina Fey with  the twist being that the new series takes a more realistic approach to the idea of  ”fairytale”.

Here, traditional fairytale characters are given a modern day makeover and put in seemingly disparate situations which have more in common with the real world than the fairytale’s they originally featured in. Prince charming is seen as an elderly man, sitting in a nursing home. Rapunzel has lost her crowning mane after a stint in chemotherapy. Snow white is left holding the children in a filthy house while her prince lazes around. You get the idea. Enjoy!

So, Tatler is finally out today so i’m officially allowed to post about the yummy shoot we did about two weeks ago in the studio of artist Helen Steele. Based in Monaghan, her work is so amazingly colourful and so is her studio. There. was. paint. EVERYWHERE.

I must say, it was one of my very favourite shoots despite the weird smell around the vicinity which must have been coming from the factory of Silver Hill Foods which was right next door. Still, can’t complain too much, we had the most awesome duck based lunch, yumzors!!

Anyway, on to the pictures!

Best part of all, I got to keep the fab silver skirt!!! Although I haven’t gotten a chance to wear it yet, it’s gonna be AWESOME!!!
