I’ll Take the Rain

I have the most…

Brooches and bows. So simple but one of my favourites for accessorising. I’m rarely without a bow adorning my head. Here’s a small selection of my collection.

Here’s what I look like today. Somewhat bedraggled with the crazy weather we’ve been suffering through.

Velvet and lace are boss. I don’t wear eye makeup anymore- I look a little like an alien but hey that’s fine with me.

You know I like it loud

Dress- a gift from a lovely friend * Shirt- sample sale in my old job * Socks & Shoes- Penneys * Rosette- Handmade by an Irish designer, purchased in Lucy’s Lounge

Firstly a big mega load of thank you kindly to a very dear friend who I persuaded to lend me his camera. Mine has officially given up on me which is partially why I have been so shy of blogging lately. I’m not sure if you can tell but my bracelet has the sweetest little portraits of Blythe dolls, they make me smile- I have an entire collage of Blythe pictures hanging in my room. You can also spy my tattoo properly in these pictures.

I went to the launch of the Dublin Fashion Festival this evening in the beautiful dining hall of the Westin Hotel. There was bubbles, beautiful hats and lots of stylish so and so’s. Most importantly there was food. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t spend a considerable amount of time hanging around the chocolate fountain, “taking in the surroundings”

I cannot believe it is already the end of July- this Summer has been the fastest of my life so far. I have many lovely gigs planned and a mini excursion in September. Notting Hill Carnival is also pencilled into my calendar.

ps do knees freak anyone else out?

I remember

This was my face yesterday- I popped along to Topshop for the launch of their new dress collection. I bought something for my not so little anymore sister which I now want to keep for myself. Absolutely EVERYTHING I’m wearing bar my tights is from Miss Selfridge- the most under-rated shop on the high street.

Still getting used to working all weekend every weekend, Summer makes me want to lie around with daiquiris and dance music allllllll day long.

Is maith liom milseáin. Is fearr liom éadaí.

Ah sure it’s only meself. Firstly hi! I’ve posted so many “I’m sorry for abandoning you” posts I’m beginning to feel they should have a category all of their own. Let’s move on shall we? Here’s what I look like today, pics taken in my lovely little room in fair London.

I’ve had many many things going in lately, one huge piece of news in particular… I’m a-coming home! With ever increasing numbers of my friends leaving Ireland, I seem to be one of the few crazy enough to return. It’s all in the name of progress however, I have managed to land myself a super amazing job with loads of opportunities. So it’s both a sad and super super happy time. Sad to be leaving my adopted city of London and my beautiful friends here, but also excited to be back with my family and boy and friends again.

I was also completely shocked and delighted to find myself on the long list for the Irish Blog Awards 2011 in the category of Best Lifestyle Blog. TANKS VERY MUCH LADS. Not that I have much faith in making it further down the road due to the fierce competition amongst some of my most favourite blogs in all the land, it means a lot to squeeze in there anyway.

ps fashion weeks mean me being chained to my computer so expect more blabbing soon

I think I like it

SO, I went to my ball on Thursday night in the Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire. It  was AWESOME, I… was not. Apologies to all who encountered the unstoppable force of  myself and the Major league… we don’t get out much being in final year, what can I say!

My dress was from Covet in Powerscourt. I loved loved loved it. If I could live in it, I so  would. My hairband (which I lost, booooo) was from Awear and my shoes and bag were  borrowed from an old-school friend.

We spent the following day lounging in Dun Laoghaire, feeling sorry for ourselves and  drinking fresh lemonade lying on some grass. Lovely. I am of course paying for it now,  final week of lectures ever and 3 assignments to go before I even consider my exams…  oh dear.

Hopefully everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather and not sitting indoors spontaneously bursting into tears at the thoughts of another day thinking about business strategy. Yucky.
