Is maith liom milseáin. Is fearr liom éadaí.

Ah sure it’s only meself. Firstly hi! I’ve posted so many “I’m sorry for abandoning you” posts I’m beginning to feel they should have a category all of their own. Let’s move on shall we? Here’s what I look like today, pics taken in my lovely little room in fair London.

I’ve had many many things going in lately, one huge piece of news in particular… I’m a-coming home! With ever increasing numbers of my friends leaving Ireland, I seem to be one of the few crazy enough to return. It’s all in the name of progress however, I have managed to land myself a super amazing job with loads of opportunities. So it’s both a sad and super super happy time. Sad to be leaving my adopted city of London and my beautiful friends here, but also excited to be back with my family and boy and friends again.

I was also completely shocked and delighted to find myself on the long list for the Irish Blog Awards 2011 in the category of Best Lifestyle Blog. TANKS VERY MUCH LADS. Not that I have much faith in making it further down the road due to the fierce competition amongst some of my most favourite blogs in all the land, it means a lot to squeeze in there anyway.

ps fashion weeks mean me being chained to my computer so expect more blabbing soon

Meet Julian Louie, designer of Louie (strangely enough!). Having made his start studying architecture in Cooper Union, Louie thankfully realised that his talents would be better spent in fashion.

Having cut his teeth working in Imitation of Christ with Tara Subkoff and at Calvin Klein with Francisco Costa, Louie launched his own label and showed for the first time in September of last year at Chelsea’s Drive in New York.

Louie himself describes his Spring/Summer 09 collection as “Baroque Athleticism” fusing together inspiration from diverse sources including
Teipolo’s painting “Perseus & Andromeda”, detailing prompted by wetsuit and scuba equpiment, Swarovski crystals and beading and heavy block colours. All makes for an exciting, fresh 15 piece collection constructed out of neoprene and silk faille

Certainly one to watch for the future.
