My So Called Life

Outfit post alert- it’s been a long time coming. Today I was channelling my inner gothic, angst ridden teenage self. I went for a jaunt up in Camden and was listening to Marilyn Manson all day… very fun and like being 15 again only less baggy jeans with a whole lot more leg.

For extra fun a crazy affected one!

Empathy

Hello blog world, remember me? We used to be friends… we giggled and shared pretty pictures with each other and gossiped for hours about clothes, clothes, clothes. I don’t want you to think I’ve forgotten about you, I’ve just been preoccupied with far less important things.

I’m going home next week and I can hardly wait to see all of my amazing family and friends, I’ve missed them all so. The occasion: my graduation. I am apparently a grown up which I find incredibly humorous. After all of the gruelling hours in the library, thankless last minute editing of group projects, learning to bite my tongue and get on with it… I’ve emerged on the other side with everything I could have hoped for from college- an amazing degree, faith in the sheer power of will and two of the best friends anyone could ever ask for (HAI NERDS)

Finding an appropriate outfit was always going to be a challenge- I swung from office chic to cupcake princess. Morticia Adams to pared down Chole perfection. I ended up with something completely unrelated to all of the above. I can’t go into details no but think… Mad Men. I found these shoots and simply must have one of these hairstyles please.

Thoughts?! It needs to be perfect and amazing and sturdy enough to last me through from 10am to 10am the following morning with a whoooooooooooole lotta dancing!

I’m going to be moving house soon, sharing with some lovely girls in Camden, can hardly wait! I’m also applying for a short course in CSM, must make use of being in London! Does anyone have any experience with their short courses that they feel like sharing?

Swing

Excuses, excuses I won’t bore you with them…

Just an update- I am in fact still alive. I’ve taken up swing dancing (lindy hop lads) and it’s amaze balls. I had an outfit post of what I wore (victory rolls and all!) but am still waiting for my friend to send me the images- hint hint!!

In other news, I’ve mainly been eating too much food, drinking too much wine and thinking about home and the future a lot. London is an amazing place but I can’t help but think about how much more amazing it would be if all my friends and family could be here too.

For breakfast this morning I had homemade (not by me sadly) raspberry macarrons with clotted cream and raspberry jam in the centre. Holy crap they were like little pieces of almondy-meringue heaven. If Jen could get right on that then come and visit me, I would be very very happy.

Fashion wise I’m all about AW right now- work has allowed me a lovely glimpse into what we have to look forward to on the high street and I’m a very very excited girl- long sleeve sweeping maxis, embellishment on everything, velvet, lace and a hint of 40s tailoring and tea dresses for the awkward transitional  period. I cannot wait to abuse my sexy discount.

To get in the spirit, these are my thoughts…

Albino D’Amato Milan Fashion Week

This is exactly what I want to look like when I’m all grown up and living out my amazingly fashionable life.

I’m a huge fan of anything A-line and the colour palette is obviously delicious. The caramel coat reminds of an amazing dessert that was made for me yesterday that consisted of two types of ice cream and marshmallow fluff, scrumptious.

I love that Milan is always so different from the other fashion weeks- super refined but still glamorous.

Massive love also for D&G

Cable knit corsets, mini rompers and teeny shorts
Mini suits and the most perfectest shorts ever (complete with silky bow ties)
and of course the most amazing virgin-suicide-esque full length sheer dresses (which are basically nightgowns turned good)

D&G always do it right, I always manage to leave them off my list of favourite designers when in reality I adore most of what they do. For some reason D&G always conjures up images of tack when I think about them and I’m not sure why, its an awful shame really.

Note to self: D&G are the cat’s whiskers
